On the morning of January 20, 2022, NAIS  2021-2022 1st semester closing ceremony was held in the theater. The ceremony showcased the students‘ achievements which included various aspects such as academics, art, music, sports, life in the past half a year.

Brianna Huang

Growth may be subtle and rarely seen, but it does exist silently. The growth in school includes better grades, learning more knowledge, making more friends... The growth I have gained this year is that I have adapted to the changing environment and gradually found my own learning methods and ways. Great thanks to all the teachers and friends who helped me. The future is still unknown, but I believe that with the gained learning method of this semester in the next semester will be better.

Growth seems to be a very big word, but it happens to us all the time. Time passed quickly, twinkling of an eye this semester has come to an end. We have crossed the year of the Ox and entered the New Year of the Tiger. Throughout this semester, we were busy but also full. We took every step well. Those setbacks made us stronger and braver, and those gains became the motivation and hope for us to move forward. All of these are our growth without exception. We are grateful for the indispensable things and people who have always accompanied us on our growth road, who make us mature from ignorance and let us know how to become a better self. The future is short, maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, the future is long and there are still many dreams to realize.

As I grow up, I finally find what I really like, what I am capable of. Really, I'm grateful to everyone who asked me the question, and I'm grateful to everyone who helped me answer the question. We are put on this earth to play a unique role. Our responsibility is to make dreams come true with all the support you can get... Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Now think about what you want to do and go after it before you think about the outcome. Life is full of challenges, do what you want to do, as long as you are true to yourself, you can't do wrong... "If you're surfing the Internet, chatting, playing video games at 18, doing what you can do at 80, what's the point of your youth?" Let's continue to explore meaningful things, starting from now.

Standardized grades and GPAs are important in high school, so you must first strive to do your best academically and maintain an upward trend that will show college admissions officers that you are making progress. In addition to grades, the social experience can also reflect one's comprehensive ability. For example, when I was in grade 12 I went to an enterprise for real-life practice, in this process I also learned about myself, and hands-on knowledge beyond the learning on campus, which can help us better fit into society after graduating from the university. Finally, I would like to thank all the teachers and classmates who helped me to improve my abilities in all aspects, so that I was successfully admitted to the university I want to study in.

The great thing about this profession, though, is that it helps you look at yourself in the mirror every day. I realized that whatever attitude and mindset I brought to class was reflected by my students. The apathy, the anger and the frustration of my students betrayed my own dissatisfaction with life, my pride and my egoism. I realized that teaching is more than conveying information; we do not teach what we know, we teach what we are, and if I ever wanted to be a good teacher I had to change myself for the better. That is how I began an arduous journey to unravel the wrong motives that have clouded the reason in my mind and the love in my heart. I realized that if I wanted my students to be happy, I had to be happy, if I wanted to be loving, I had to show them love, and if I wanted to care about my class, I had to care myself.

Xiaojian Dong：

In this semester, you faced changes in the curriculum, challenges in activities, and the pressure of further education. However, you did not give up, and did not say no to yourself because of challenges and pressures. In the face of difficulties, you proved your strength with actions, you helped each other, and you were sincere and kind! Salute to all the brave and lovely students, and congratulations on a meaningful and extraordinary semester!

Secondly, I am very grateful to all the functional departments of our school for their cooperation and support to the work of the homeroom teachers.
