Aston Villa and Athletic Club meet in a friendly at Walsall on Wednesday night as both sides continue their preparations for the 2024-25 season.
The Villans enjoyed a great Premier League campaign last year, qualifying for the Champions League but their 2023-24 campaign didn't end the way they would have liked. Unai Emery's side were beaten 6-2 on aggregate by Olympiacos in the Conference League semi-finals, having only just edged out Lille on penalties in the quarter-finals.
