Hibernian will be looking for their first win of the 2024-25 Scottish Premiership season when they host Celtic on Sunday afternoon.

The hosts fought relegation towards the end of last season and that's something they'll be keen to avoid this term. Unfortunately, they haven't got off to a good start, with David Gray's side losing 3-0 to St Mirren on Matchday one last time out.

Celtic meanwhile were crowned champions of Scotland for the third year in a row last season. The visitors beat Rangers by eight points and have started the new campaign in the same vein. The visitors scored four against Kilmarnock without reply and will be keen to repeat that performance on Sunday afternoon.

Hibernian vs. Celtic betting tips: Celtic to win

Hibernian will be desperate to bounce back from the disastrous opening day defeat to Saint Mirren, but the Hibees don't have a great record against Celtic. David Gray's side have won just one of their last 22 meetings with Celtic and shipped six goals in the last two alone.

Celtic were by far the best away side in the Scottish Premiership last season, taking 45 points from a possible 57 and also had the second-best away defensive record. With that in mind, anything other than a win for the visitors will be a surprise.

  • Best Tip: Celtic to win
  • Hibernian vs Celtic prediction: 1-2

Hibernian team news

Jake Doyle-Hayes has been out of action since August last year with an injury and Sunday's game will come too soon for the midfielder.

The hosts' injury list also includes the likes of Elie Youan and Junior Hoilett who are nursing leg and hamstring injuries respectively.

Head coach David Gray is expected to make changes to the side that was on the pitch from kickoff in the defeat to St Mirren last time out. Chris Cadden and are among those that will be hoping to benefit from this reshuffle.
