The Champions League dream remains alive for both Malmo and PAOK as they lock horns in the first leg of their third qualifying round tie. With a place in the playoff round up for grabs, a potentially cagey affair can be expected when these two sides meet on Tuesday.

While the hosts remain top of the Allsvenskan, Malmo′s recent form has been somewhat up and down. Henrik Rydstr?m′s side have lost three of their last five matches, including a surprise 1:0 loss against Sirius in the Swedish top flight.

The Swedes secured their place in Tuesday′s tie despite suffering a 3:2 loss in Iceland against KI last week. A 4:1 first-leg victory ensured Malmo′s progression with a 6:4 aggregate victory. 

PAOK secured their trip to Sweden with a hard-fought victory against Bosnian′s Borac Banja Luka. The Greeks edged through, 4:2 on aggregate, after a 1:0 win in Bosnia last week. 

While this is certainly a tough tie to predict with too much confidence, goals can usually be expected when both of these teams are in action. Malmo have seen over 2.5 goals scored in nine of their last ten competitive fixtures, while PAOK have seen the same outcome in eight of their last 11 competitive contests since the end of last season.

Perhaps unlikely to be a high-scoring thriller, both teams will be confident of getting a positive result, and I fancy both to net on Tuesday, with at least three goals scored.
